Change in Plan

Hey Everyone,

How is the wet/cold sunday going? Hope it didn't stop you all from going to church to have a maximum worship with fellow brethren (i had to put that in bold because some of you will now start saying church is in "my heart"....excuseeeeeeee). Nothing compares to fellowshipping with the brethren, it boots faith, steadfastness, committment etc.

Talking about church, i usually plan what i wear to service during the week (not just church service though). This week was no exception. I already planned the dress, shoes, bag and hair. I had the perfect twist-out in mind (which didn't turn out as nice so i had to scarve it up). It was going to be a sweet-fun filled sunday worship in God's presence.....

Come this morning, when i woke up, i realised it was drizzling....i didn't mind nor was i deterred, i just went about my morning chores and dressed up for church feeling on top of the world. Stepping outside the door, the rain came down with a mighty force. Geez...it immediately dawned on me, my choice of outfit was not in sync with the cool weather, i didn't put the weather into consideration while "planning"..Ha....should i change clothes??? Nooooo waaaaayyyyyyy......Now my point is this....

I love PLANNING, i have the mindset that when you plan, even the most insignificant things, it goes well and interesting. Knowing that everything is going/went as planned is fulfilling. Am not saying being sponteneous isn't fulfilling or interesting, it is, so very well but i'll rather i plan, thank you. When it seems my plan is about to change, ooooppppssss, i so do not like the feeling at all.
So this rain was about to change my plan??? i object. I went to church all the same and guess what....the coolness of the ACs and fans decided to have a feast on me. Let's just say the funkiness of my plan didn't go as planned....
Next time i should just plan/change with the weather, yea??

P.S. Sorry, no pictures....the rain obviously was an obstacle.

How did your own sunday go????

Addicted

Hey everyone,

How are we all doing? TGIF...while every other person is getting ready to turn up, guess what am doing?

Sitting in front of my TV watching Kiddies programs on Nickelodeon.(I could bet my dinner that wasn't what came to your mind). I just realized am becoming addicted to this channel, like anytime the TV is on, that's where i tune into first. *insert big weird stare*. Ha, i need help, right?

But really, those sitcoms are the real deal, it cracks me up real good.

Even the less favorite does the trick. Do you watch any? Which is your favorite, i have got couple of them. Okay, lets see, in the order of most favorite

1. The Thundermans

2. Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn

3. The Hunted Hathaways

4. Big Time Rush

5. Sam and Cat

6. Max and Shred

Ha, Omaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, see what thou had ''DUNNETH'' to thyself? lol.....

Lemme confess

*whispering* this whole TV addiction thing is just a way to console myself of not turning up on a fairly cool Friday evening like this....

So for those of you turning up.....Happy turnup

Am running back to my Addiction, they are about to start showing another episode of ''the thundermans'' see y'all lerrraaa.....

NAMES

Hi there,

Its been quite sometime.....how are you all doing? Good, Great.....never been better? Which ever may be the case, God is Awesome. His name is Yaweh, I am that i am....

Talking about names, is it weird to have multiple names, say 4,5,6 names? I think its kinda cute and fun. What do y'all think??? I personaly would have loved having about 6 names from different tribe...heheheheheehe..am a true Nigerian.

The other day, myself and my friends were having a chat with my mum and she was telling us the story of how my name came to be "Ifeoma". 7days after my birth, it was the naming ceremony day as custom requires, prior to that day, my maternal grandfather and paternal grandmum had a fall out as to who/what my name should be. (like seriously???? why fight when you all can give me a nameeeee) After all the grahhhhhagrahhhhgrahhh, they settled with "Ifeoma" which my maternal grandfather chose....Yay..he won( am glad am bearing that name for a couple of reasons....
1. Its meaning! it means Goodthing
2. I didn't get the chance to know my grandfather...he died when i was just 2years old...so in a way, the name gives me a sense of belonging with him
3. I can coin different cute names from it....i have Ify, and my own bestest name ever...Oma!

Have you met any child with multiple names recently....you go hail....the name introduction goes thus

"my name is Nwabuaku, my mum calls me Akunna, my dad, Precious, my grandparents named me Ezinne, my favourite aunt calls me Folasade" whewwwww...oh boy....

These are names i would have loved to bear in different tribes

Ifeoma-Ukwuani/Igbo
Nwabuaku-Ukwuani/Igbo
Ivie-Bini
Darasimi-Yoruba
Alero-Itsekiri
Mena- Urhobo
Ebiegberi-Ijaw
Anietiee-Efik

So , do you have multiple names, Which do you like best and which other names would you have loved to bear?

Another Reason To Be......

Hello People,

Happy New Month and Workers Day! I am sure a lot of us will be soooooo grateful for today being a Holiday. With this fuel ish causing traffic and tension, who wouldn't want to be at home chillaxing. How was your April???? Great? Superb? which ever, May is gonna be greater, Trust God. He has a way of caring for his own, and for that we should be grateful.

Source

Talking about being Grateful, did you hear about the Nepal Earthquake that happened on the 25th of last month? Mehn.....that was some serious dealings....we can't begin to imagine. Over 6300+ lost their lives, 14000+ were injured, at least that's the ones accounted for, a lot more wasn't documented. Watching it on CNN, i couldn't help but wonder...... God is merciful sha..we don't get to worry about most of this natural disasters in this part of the world. How favoured are we???? And yet we have thousands of issues to complain about??? Bad Government, Boko Haram, Fuel wahala to name but a few.

Instead of channelling our energy into complaining and nagging, we could actually just praise God for all orther things he has made okay for us as a country and as an individual. Earthquakes arn't occurences you joke about with, and the painful thing is you can do little or nothing to prevent it. The continents prone to these natural disasters has other issues to deal with just like us. But you know what? These issues are Preventable unlike the natural ones which you can't prevent. So next time you catch yourself complaining, pause, think about Nepal, India, Bangladesh, China, and so many other countries prone to this disasters, then you will have...

Another Reason to Be GRATEFUL!!!

Foodie Wednesday: Yam and Cat-fish Pepper Soup!

Hello There,

How are we all doing? And the week, how is it coming along?
This morning i remembered one scenario like that from childhood, it should be Easter or Independence day, can't really recall which now. I lived in this neighborhood where everyone lived like one big family, there were lots of sharing, food was on a galore that particular day. You needed to have seen me, i ate like there was no tomorrow. My mum warned me on several occasion to stop but na lie...her warnings flew into the right ear and flew out from the left. Oya fast forward to midnight, while sleeping, come and see me see throwing up. Mummy Dearest helped me cleaned but do you know the next thing she did? hehehehehehehehehehe......your guess i as good as mine!
Why all this story???? I LOVE FOOD....SOOO Much.....*sigh* all these weight watching has caused my love for food to reduce but it hasn't changed my love for cooking.

Recently i craved for yam, but i didn't want the usual yam and egg or yam pottage thingy, then i remembered yam pepper-soup! Gbam... i decided to have me some yam and catfish pepper soup. It was so nice i decided to share with you all, am caring and nice bah?

What you will need

                                                       Yam (cut into chunks)
                                                                      Catfish
Pepper(i used grounded chilli pepper, you can use atarodo if u so desire), Knorr Seasoning (2 cubes) and Salt to taste
Crayfish(grounded), Akanwu, Uda, African Nutmeg(roasted and grounded)
                                                       Scent leaves (chopped)
Onion(chopped)
Palm oil

        Procedure

Wash your fish and set aside
To get a great scent out of your African nutmeg and Uda, roast them a little, then grind and set aside
Put the yam into a pot and pour enough water to cover it
Add onion and a little pepper and boil for 10 minutes
Once it starts boiling, add a tablespoon of palm oil, fish, crayfish, all the spices and more pepper
Cook for another 10 minutes
Once yam is cooked, take it out from the pot, leaving the pepper soup and fish
After a minute or two, turn off heat and take down.
Your yam and catfish is ready to be devoured!

You can serve with palm oil just as i did or without it. The choice is yours!

Try this out, you wouldn't be disappointed. *wink*

P.S: Nothing would give me greater pleasure than knowing your thoughts as well. Your comments are always welcomed....keep them coming! I would always reply, I promise!

Oma!

FiftyShadesOfBlack

Hello lovelies!

How is it going with you all? How is the election coming up at your end? Its funny how family ties would make us to vote for the wrong(self opinion) person. My friend Jay said she is voting for one of her father's relation even though she knows the man has definitely got nothing to offer. Sentiments is the order of the day in today's politics/democracy. Well, i aint voting not because i do not want to but am unavoidably not around to be able to cast my precious vote. So, whatever happens, may the best man win.....i sha know my uncle is the best man for DTHA Ukwuani constituency! *winks*

When i was growing up (am still growing oh), i always get excited when people say "Oma you are getting dark o", they usually don't say this as a compliment but outta concern, but guess what....i see it as a compliment. When they turn around to say "Oma, what cream are you using, you are glowing"....chaii....you need to see me, it would be like i lost a visa lottery *i always mistake glowing for being light-skin*.

The mere thought of being a light-skinned girl use to give me the creeps. Ah...i don't think i could have been able to deal with it. Don't get me wrong, i love my light-skinned sisters & bruvs.......

Everyone of one us is beautiful in our own skin, so why want to alter it? When i stumbled on the Fifthyshadesofblack IG, i couldn't help but admire these ladies effort to bring back the self love of a lot of young ladies out there. Truth be told, a lot of us have lost our self esteem due to our skin colour. I was just fortunate to have loved mine. Thanks to God and my momma who just didnt get enough from pampering my beautiful skin...yes i have got beautiful skin. Just look at this gorgeous babes....
